The Secret War of Charles Fraser-Smith-SIGNED COPY
Often thought to be the inspiration for 'Q' in the Bond Films, this book is the story of Charles Fraser-Smith. During World War II, Fraser-Smith worked for the Ministry of Supply, fabricating equipment nicknamed "Q-devices" (after Q-ships) for SOE agents operating in occupied Europe. The Blue Arena-Bob Spurdle
Robert 'Bob' Spurdle was one of the New Zeland pilots that fought during WWII. Credited with 10 Victories during the war, Bob came over to the UK, and flew Spitfires with 74 Squadron initially. Later serving with 91 Sqn during the latter part of the Battle of Britain. He later joined 16 Sqn and fought in the Solomon Islands Campaign, returning to Europe with 80 Sqn to the war's end. Wings On My Sleeve 1978-Eric Brown
This is a hardback copy of this much sought after book printed in 1978. During Eric's lifetime, he made a record-breaking 2,407 aircraft carrier landings and survived eleven plane crashes. I have two copies of this book. Both in as new condition, one an unsigned version, but the other is Multi Signed by veterans who served during the Normandy landings, and at Arnhem amongst others, but my favourite is the signature of Percy George who landed on D-Day and made it all the way to Berlin.
