ABOUT THE COLLECTION

Hello, I’m Richard

I’ve been collecting Motorsport  and Wartime Memorabilia since childhood.

The result being a massive collection, some of which I need to sell due to space limitations, hence the creation of this website to show what's available !

The collection includes Aviation, War and Motorsport Books, many signed and possibly unique,

Original Motorsport Posters (both Car and Bike), Quality Limited Edition Aviation Prints – most with Artist / Veterans Signatures, good quality Die Cast Models of Bikes, Cars and Planes, including helmets – some with signatures. I also have a Collection of Signed Photos, First Day Covers and a small collection of Racing T shirts and Caps. Again some signed. Signed racing gloves and balaclavas add to the clothing list.

This a huge, personal and private collection consisting of some very rare pieces and signatures. Many signatures have been collected personally, most of the Aviation art is certified and bought from respected and reliable sources. some of the collection is bought from other sources, these items are bought in good faith, however, being a serious, enthusiastic collector for over 30 years now, I have been very vigilant in ensuring my collection is filled with genuine signatures and wouldn't knowingly sell a fake signature.

As the collection is too large to list, please look at the summary and enquire for more detail. If there is something specific you are looking for, or are interested in, please contact me, if I don’t have it, I may be able to point you in the right direction If I can help I will. PLEASE be aware, with this being a collection clearance, with most of the items, once it's gone, it's gone. I do have a few items where more than one was bought, but ask quickly if you are interested in an item for that reason. I hope you enjoy looking through the site as much as I've enjoyed pulling the collection together.

* Please note, we have not got a 'Shopping Basket' attached to this Website due to most of the items being 'one offs', the      differences in every single parcel, small, medium, large, tubes etc, and the different postal costs. These are all sorted out    individually as much to suit the customer as anything. Everything is VERY CAREFULLY and thoughtfully packed for the         journey, to make sure every item arrives in great condition for the new owner to enjoy for years to come.

Therefore if you could PLEASE e-mail or call me to discuss purchasing, that would be great.

Many Thanks.

Richard.

Happy Browsing.

BACKGROUND TO THE COLLECTION

Aviation Art

Prints

I have had an interest in Aviation/WWII since being a child. My Mother served in the NAAFI during WWII, and had some lovely stories to tell,  and my Father used to take the family to the odd Airshow during the summer months when money allowed. My collection has been pulled together over the years thanks to some great characters in the Aviation Art business, some now long retired. Many of the prints I have are now sold out from the publishers, and are very sought after by collectors. Some of those I have decided to sell. I have had extra signatures added at signing events over the years. Collectors of the prints are not very fond of this as it's no longer in its' 'original' state, but collectors of WWII signatures, and those looking to own a lovely piece of History search for these. Multi signed books add to this list in a similar way. Enjoy looking through the selection. My wish is that all go to good homes more than anything else.

Bike Racing

I was taken to my first bike race meeting as a baby, and have been going ever since. There's not enough space here to write all the stories, but it has been a huge part of my life, and given me so much pleasure over the years. I have bikes on the road, have been lucky enough to parade superb race bikes, I have been a passenger in a good friends' FII Sidecar outfit at Jurby for a test run, and I have friends that have raced Solos in various classes over the years, some still out there now. I also have a really good mate that has been a Grand Prix mechanic for many years, hence why my Autograph collection is so comprehensive, and MORE importantly these days GENUINE. I also did the Bike Racing reports in our Local Newspapers from 1978 to 1994 and, thanks to my press pass, it not only gave me superb access to the paddocks, but trackside access for the photos. Therefore I was able to put a comprehensive photograph collection together over those years, and if there are any riders you are interested in, please contact me as I may have an image I can help with. (Josh Brookes photo is one from the collection).

Motor Racing

Memorabilia

My Motor sport interest comes from a few different 'angles'. Although taken to bike race meetings as  children, the Car Racing wasn't so regular. But watching F1 on BBC, when it was good to watch, along with Rallycross etc on Grandstand entertained us as kids.. However travelling to watch several Kart Race Meetings at Cadwell Park, for Long Circuit action, and then Kimbolton and Fulbeck for the exciting short circuit racing, initially with a great mate, set a real seed in me, and in 1979 I started racing myself. With great help and moral support from my family, and my good friend John, I raced through to 1985. A gap of 6 years followed, and I restarted in 1991. House bought and interest rates down, we had another go, this time I'm proud to say we were more successful, with a championship win at Kimbolton in 1995, and the next year managed to be East Anglian 100C (160) Champion, again at Kimbolton. This was followed with 3 more years in the top 3 of the championship. A great SPORT, (as Mr. Senna explained so correctly in the 2010 film), with GREAT memories.

I VERY PROUDLY worked at Neil Brown Engineering for 5 years, helping to put together race and championship winning engines in such championships as DTM, F3, and BTCC as parts buyer/co ordinator. This was followed by working at Kelvedon Lotus for 9 years, supplying parts etc for Road and Race Lotus cars. (Photo of one of the exhaust stacks on the Championship winning BRM P57, driven by Graham Hill, taken at the BRM celebration at Bourne in October 2012). Just down the road from my home town.
