John Cruickshank VC Signed Dams Cover
This very nice condition First Day Cover commemorates the 60th Anniversary of the Dams raid, and uses Robert Taylor's stunning image, 'Operation Chastise'. It also has an unusual stamp, 'Boy VC, 16' which tells the story of John (Jack) Cornwell and his gallentry on board HMS Chester during the Battle of Jutland. The cover is nicely signed by John Cruickshank VC who sank U Boat U-361, and despite multiple injuries flew his Catalina for hours before landing at Sullom Voe. Price:- £22.00 +p+p
Multi Signed Certificate
An unusual item here. These certificates were given out with a special set of pewter models, 'Great British Bombers of WWII', and this has been separated from the set at some point. The Certificate has the ORIGINAL signatures of some TOP RAF Bomber Command veterans. James 'Ginger' Lacey Signed 1 of 40
The FDC Title is 'Dowding and the Battle Of Britain' and this series were signed by BOB pilots. This particular cover is signed by James 'Ginger' Lacey. He flew with 501 Squadron during this time, claiming 18 Victories during the B.O.B. He was awarded the DFM and Bar, and was Mentioned in Despatches for this early in 1941. Len Trent VC Signed
Celebrating the start of operational service for the Lockheed Ventura in the RAF, May 1942, this cover is signed by Group Captain Leonard Trent VC, DFC. New Zealander Trent was part of a daring raid on a harbour in Amsterdam using the Ventura. He was the only aircraft to reach the target and drop its' bombs. Then hit by a Me109, he was thrown from his plane at 7000ft ! He landed safely. Also became part of the Great Escape from Stalag luft III. He was awarded the VC. Price :- £12.00 +p+p
Gerd Barkhorn Signed Richthofen FDC
This FDC to commemorate Manfred von Richthofen, comes with the very distinctive signature of Major Gerhard 'Gerd'' Barkhorn. A very hard signature to find these days, and very much sought after by the collector, Barkhorn finished WWII with the second highest aerial victory tally in the Luftwaffe with 301, only Erich Harmann scoring more. c/w German postal stamps. Commemorating the 1st Bomber Command Operation on 3-9-1939 using the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley, this cover is Signed by Group Captain Leonard Cheshire VC, GM,DSO, DFC. Sheila Scott Signed First Female Solo Crossing FDC
This cover, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Amelia Earhart's 1st female solo crossing of the Atlantic, is signed by Sheila Scott OBE. Sheila served as a Nurse in WWII, then became an actress in 1943. Sheila was also an English aviator who broke over 100 aviation records through her long distance flight endeavours, which included a 34,000-mile "world and a half" flight in 1971. On this flight, she became the first person to fly over the North Pole in a small aircraft. Price :- £5.00+p+p
Field Marshall Slim Signed FDC.
Very much one of the sought after signatures of WWII by collectors, that of Field Marshall William Joseph Slim, KG, GCB,GCMG,GCVO, GBE, DSO MC, adorns this Reconquest of Burma Campaign Cover. Chuck Yeager Signed FDC
Collectors out there will know, Chuck Yeager's signature is now getting hard to find at a 'sensible' price. Here I have a Brigadier General Charles 'Chuck' Yeager FDC signed by the man himself. A distinguished 'career' during WWII saw him with 'nearly' 13 victories before being shot down. Returning to the states in 1945, he was to become a test pilot, before another fighting spell during the Vietnam War, flying 127 missions. Highly decorated, and very highly respected. Peter Twiss DSC+Bar, OBE Signed FDC
Joining the Fleet Air Arm in 1939, Peter Twiss flew a very varied list of aircraft during WWII, including Gladiator, Blenheim, Hurricane, joining the 1st Seafire Sqn during the N.Africa campaign, then onto Beaufighter and Mosquitos. Peter became one of the UK's most famous Test Pilots post war setting absolute Speed Records etc. VGC. Price :- £8.00 +p+p
Admiral Karl Donitz Signed Cover
This FDC remembers Sqn Ldr Terence Bulloch DSO, DFC who ended the war with 4 confirmed U-Boat 'kills, & 2 severely damaged. Signed by Grand Admiral Karl Donitz KC with Oak Leaves,Commander of the German Navy during the second half of World War II, and the man that took over from Adolf Hitler immediately after his death was announced. Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the first flight of a Jet Propelled Aircraft in 1939, this cover, part of the sought after Rossbach series, is signed by Flugkapitan Erich Warsitz who was the pilot on that memorable day. VGC. Price :- £14.00 +p+p
Jean Batten Signed Own FDC
Jean Gardner Batten CBE OSC was a New Zealand aviatrix. Quite possibly the best-known New Zealander of the 1930s, internationally, by making a number of record-breaking solo flights across the world. Making the first-ever solo flight from England to New Zealand in 1936. Hand Signed 'own' cover. Price :- £35.00 +p+p
Roland.J.Falk OBE AFC Signed FDC
Roland was in the RAF during WWII and in 1943 became chief test pilot at RAE Farnborough flying 300 types of aircraft including those captured from Germany ! In 1946 as a test pilot he joined Vickers until 1949 when he joined A.V.Roe as Chief Test Pilot and was heavily involved in the AVRO 707 Delta Winged Aircraft. Roland flew the full size version, known as the 698, on its' maiden flight, and this was the forerunner of the much loved Vulcan. Signed by Roland Falk. Price :- £5.00 +p+p
Mike Donnet CVO DFC Signed FDC
Although born in the UK, Mike Donnet joined the Belgian Air Force in 1938. At the start of WWII Mike flew with 9th Reconnaissance Squadron, but became a prisoner of war in June 1940. Repatriated to occupied Belgium in 1941 he escaped and came to the UK. He had a very impressive wartime career in the RAF, including Arnhem, Normandy, and becoming Wing Commander of the Hawkinge Wing comprising of 4 squadrons ! Ron Gellatly Signed FDC
Ron Gellatly OBE, AFC was born in New Zealand in 1920. He joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1940, and served throughout WWII with 226,114,14, & 293 Bomber Command Squadrons. to Joining the RAF in 1947 to 1955. He then joined Fairey Aviation as a test pilot on Hunter, & Gannet, then on Westland Helicopters until 1976. VGC. Signed by Ron Gellatly. Price:- £4.00 +p+p
Schneider Trophy Winner Signed FDC
This cover commemorates Air Chief Marshall Sir John Boothman winner of the Schneider Trophy in his Supermarine S6b in 1931, but is signed by Air Vice Marshall S.N.Webster CBE AFC, who won the Schneider Trophy for Great Britain in 1927 in his Supermarine S5 at an average speed of 281.65mph. I have an unusual combination on a First Day Cover, but a very suitable one where the Battle Of Britain is concerned. AVM Trafford Leigh-Mallory was the commander of 12 Section, and was the instigator with support from Bader of the controversial 'Big Wing'. Douglas Bader Signed. Nice Condition. Price :- £59.00 +p+p
Lettice Curtis Signed ATA Cover
A popular 'subject' with collectors, the superb ATA. Without this wonderful band of people the war would have been a very different story. Flying all types of Aircraft, often with little or no previous flying experience in, to airfields far & wide. Many were female, and now the better known of this brave collection of unsung heroes. This FDC is signed by one of those very ladies, Lettice Curtis, and Peter Mursell who was ATA Director of training and ferry pilot. Price :- £16.00 +p+p
Bill Bedford OBE AFC Signed FDC
Bill Bedford joined the RAF in 1940 serving with 605 & 135 Hurricane Squadrons, spending time with 135 during the Burma campaign, seeing out the war flying Mustangs with 65 Sqn. Post war Bill became test pilot at Hawker, flying Sea Fury, Sea Hawk and Hunters. But Bill is best known for his pioneering work with the experimental V/STOL project, and flew the very first V/STOL flight in P1127 Kestrel in 1963. The forerunner to the wonderful Hawker Harrier. H.Hawker FDC Signed by T.Sopwith
This First Day Cover is a nod towards Australian expert Pilot & Engineer, Harry George Hawker. He came to the UK in 1912 joining the Sopwith Aviation Company getting his flying licence that year, becoming their test pilot after setting several high publicity records for the company. He tested their aircraft during WWI. Post war he also took up Motor Racing, and formed H.G.Hawker Engineering. Unfortunately he died in an aviation accident in July 1921. Signed by TOM Sopwith. Dave Shannon Signed FDC
This FDC celebrates the 70th Anniversary 38 Sqn (1/04/1986)/ Fairey Hendon, and comes with the signature of Dams Raid Pilot David Shannon,DSO and Bar, and DFC and Bar. He was the pilot of Lancaster AJ-L which flew in the first wave of the raid. Price :- £39.00 +p+p
James Doolittle & Peter-Eder Signed Cover
This cover is signed by General James Doolittle, who was awarded the Medal of Honour for personal valour and leadership as commander of the Doolittle Raid, a bold long-range retaliatory air raid on some of the Japanese main islands on April 18, 1942, four months after the attack on Pearl Harbour. Also signed by Luftwaffe Pilot Georg Peter-Eder. Eder flew 572 combat missions claiming 78 enemy aircraft shot down in total. c/w CoA. Price :- £90.00 +p+p.

Thunderbirds Display Team Signed 1975
The Thunderbirds Display team have been a part of the USAF since 1953, and their history as a squadron, goes right back to 1917. Rasmussen Signed B17 Cover
Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the start of the design of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, this cover is Signed by American Philip Rassmussen. Philip was one of the few USAF pilots to get into the air on December 7th 1941 during the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbour. He got his P36 Hawk in the air, and shot down an A6M Zero despite a jammed gun, and eventually landed his heavily damaged aircraft with around 500 bullet holes.He was awarded the Silver Star. 6 Sqn 60 Years Continuous Service 31-1-7
Commemorating 60 Years of Continuous Service for No.6 Squadron RAF, on 31-1-1974. This cover comes signed by two great Luftwaffe Pilots, Adolf Galland, and Major General Carl-August von Schoenbeck. Lord Louis Mountbatten Signed
Commemorating the First Launch of Aircraft from a ship whilst out at sea, HMS Hibernia, 8th May, 1912. In lovely condition, and date stamped 8th May 1979. Signed by Mountbatten of Burma, and Major J.L.R.Samson, son of Lieutenant C.R.Samson RN. who was one of the first four officers selected for pilot training by the Royal Navy and was the first person to fly an aircraft from a moving ship. This is a really nicely put together presentation piece, professionally mounted to include a photo of Adolf Hitler's Secretary (1942-45),Traudl Junge, sat outside Hitler's 'retreat' commonly known as the 'Eagle's Nest' near Berchtesgaden, and a First Day Cover Signed by Traudl Junge. This 92 Squadron cover commemorates the 33rd Anniversary of the Battle Of Britain. Date stamped 15-9-1973, and is signed by Bob Stanford Tuck who was Squadron Leader of the Hawker Hurricane-equipped No. 257 Squadron RAF, based at RAF Coltishall during the Battle of Britain. This Joint Air Training Scheme FDC is signed by Lt.Col.Doreen Dunning. Doreen was the first South African woman to be called upon to volunteer for full-time war service on 01 June 1940. She was only 22 years old when she became the Officer Commander of the South African Women's Auxiliary Air Force (SAWAAF), with the rank of Major. FDC for the First British Squadron specifically formed for night bombing, (No.100 Sqn), on 1st of February 1917. Cover signed by Squadron Leader J.C.Williamson MBE who flew with the squadron in 1918 and carried out 31 raids. He was shot down and captured, but escaped twice. Eventually sent to Danholm prison fot 'difficult' prisoners ! Repatriated in 1918 he went on to serve in WW2 in South Africa promoted to Sqn Leader and awarded the MBE. Nice Condition Cover. Ken Wallis Signed FDC
Although best known for designing and building the superb Autogyros, and his role as 'James Bond' in 'Little Nellie' in You Only Live Twice, Wing Commander Ken Wallis joined the RAFVR 1939. He was an operational Pilot in Lysanders before converting onto Wellingtons on which he flew 36 operational missions over Germany and Italy. David McCampbell Signed
This 40th Anniversary of VJ Day FDC is in lovely condition and comes with the rare signature of Captain David McCampbell of the US Navy. In 1943, McCampbell assumed command of Air Group Fifteen, which destroyed more enemy planes and sank more ships than any other air group in the Pacific War. Richard 'Dicky' Martin was awarded the DFC twice during WWII, and received the AFC and OBE at a later date. He was Chief Test Pilot for Gloster Aircraft in 1953, and later test pilot for A.V.Roe & Hawker Siddeley. Also signed by Col. James Power Carne, VC, DSO, DL. A.E.'Ben' Gunn Signed FDC
Alexander 'Ben' Gunn joined 501 Squadron in 1943 straight from his training at Cranwell. He then went on to join 274 Sqn in 11 Group flying Tempest MkVs. He became chief test pilot for Boulton-Paul post war, and became the first pilot to eject from a Delta Wing Aircraft, and also the first to Fly 'Fly-By-Wire' on all 3 surfaces. Here we have an Escape From New Britain First Day Cover that has the very rare signature of Japanese Air Ace Saburo Sakai. Sakai, enlisted in the Navy in 1933, age 16. He took part in many major battles during WWII, but was badly wounded on 7/9 1942, losing an eye. Despite this, he returned to fly again. In over 200 aerial combats, Sakai never lost a wingman.
